Marriage – part of our lifecycle?

Yesterday’s bottom half of blog entry was voicing my almost frustration towards parents wishes and threats. Here I am going to note down a thought I had during breakfast regarding marriage and poverty. Some may think how nuptial has anything to do with poverty?

What is the point of marriage by having a divorce? As I understand, divorce is an annulment of a marriage. Now marriage, as defined in many web dictionaries, is;

a) The state-recognized, voluntary and exclusive contract for the lifelong union of two persons”, from www.duhaime.org

b) “Precise definitions vary historically and between and within cultures, but it has been an important concept as a socially sanctioned bond in a sexual relationship.”, from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marriage

c) “Historically, a relationship between a male, a female and their families whose primary purpose is to raise offspring. Today many people use the word to describe a committed, loving relationship with or without children.”, www.familysynergy.org/art-poly.html

d) “is the act, ceremony or process by which the legal relationship of husband and wife is constituted. The legality of the union may be established by civil, religious, or other means as recognized by the laws of each country.”, from twig.sdsu.edu/demoybk/technote/english/glossary.htm

It means the relationships recognized legally by society. This legality ensures that a couple can fuck all their lives with the law backing from behind. Have your heard of a case where a husband was convicted for raping his legally married wife?

Therefore, if you are having a girlfriend boyfriend relationship, that may actually be considered ‘illegal’.

Marriage then to me sounds very subjective due to the variation of meaning to different level of society, religion, culture and race. The law defines the legality of a case in which helps govern a society intermix with religion, culture and different races fused. A human society thriving to persists to increase human population. Undeniably, an increase population has an effect on the social structure of the economy in which deteoriates the environment. This social structure supported by the medium of currency tips the balance of the poor and rich manifested by greed and lust.

To the rich mostly, marriage is a convenient legality to union recognized to have publicity and stature effect. To the working class, it can mean the above or subject to many means of survival. To the poor, marriage is meaningless because the primary focus is to survive.

The following statement may or may not be the summary of an average wage earning person from birth till death.

1) Birth.

2) Education.

3) Employment + (2)

4) Marriage + (3)

5) Children. + (4)

6) Death.

The (+) means it can include the above summary. A person may go through the cycle of employment while continuing to study or may be a married person who works and studies as well. By the time we reach life summary number 6, how are we remembered as?

Probably I am starting to understand the life cycle’s purpose…to be continued.
