The Vanishing Fugitive

It was instantaneous I replied yes to join the team of 9 on an excursion of 7 days to Mount Tahan. The peak stands at 2187m asl. In order to conquer a person need to traverse large extend of pre-historic tropical rain forest in which some believe to be 150 million years old.

When I said yes, it did not occur to me that the environment would be tough and unforgiving at times. Survival is mainly the whole concept that architects the natural surroundings of the forest.

Anyway, before attempting the climb, the team has appointed an experience climber to adapt us for the journey. In within 4 weekends we were suppose to camp and hike up different hills and mountains. Gunung (Mount) Nuang is considered the toughest and similar to the environment in Tahan.

My blog entry is regarding a fugitive leech. It got into my shoes and stay hidden somehow unnoticeable. As I got down from the training mountain, I changed to a pair of comfortable slippers and left the hiking shoes in the trunk. Cutting story short, I got home took out the socks and dip it into a solution mix with Vanish.

Beauty and the beast

For many of times I have noticed inconsistent behavior display by Malaysians. This would mean one thing, no one is perfect and this goes to other people in other countries. There are ugly corners in every scene. Things like misspelling English signage, rude & unethical behavior, discrimination and etcetera. However, it depends from which angle a person is looking from but it does not matter.

The subject I want to note down today is about a Malaysian Queue. I want to describe scenarios from my perspective when Malaysian behaves the best when it comes to patience while waiting in line. Ok! Here it goes;

Malaysian tends to rudely cut queues in these situations.

a) Traffic lights

b) Toll gates

c) Traffic jams

d) Female toilets

e) Sometimes at cash out alley in super markets.

... will continue to fill in when I come across more examples.

Surprisingly at certain instances Malaysian behaves very good in queue in the following scenarios I encountered.

a) At Subang Jaya, where Malaysians waiting to buy Indian rojak.

b) At cinema ticket booths.

c) At fast food outlets.

.. will add on if I come across more examples. Care to comment?

In conclusion, I can safely say that Malaysian is most likely ugly when they can hide themselves like in a vehicle. When it comes to food and entertainment, somehow strangely they are very patience.

Birth of PidoCat.

Variations of mascot.

The initiators from mylowyat.com!

Couple of BLOG postings back click here. Coincidentally, I told two friends who undecidely read my blog for my review on homemade ice cream spotted a small cartoon animal I drew for also no particular reason.

Anyway, the initiator on the left decided to borrow it as a mascot for his web store - MYLOWYAT.COM. Well, as a friend, I agreed and gave them the camera taken picture (top row middle box - variations of mascot).

Strangely they gave it a name and to my surprise I was asked to colour this thing called pidocat! Relunctantly I accepted the request without promising anything. After a little while of experimenting and here comes out a few variation of a very ill pidocat.

Pidocat in purple has got a bad cold, green got diahorea and finally the yellow cub-pup looks like got fever.

It would be happy if companies in the future take this pidocat and use it as their marketing mascot without my permission. That's where I can sue millions off their asses and retire mine with the money, hahahahaha!

New credit card scam old solution.

Reading this Star paper article last paragraph reminded me the detail importance of the small things we all do to prevent larger problems to occur.

As I was chatting with MB last night before sleep, she mentioned processes are so mundane. However, it’s important to have processes in order to device shortcuts. When I mentioned processes, it is not just confine to our work but also daily lives. For instance, making the bed every morning after waking up is a process shortcut to two steps. Even shorter process would be one step i.e. to hire a helper.

Regardless our daily processes for work and life it comes down to our survival as a one out of over 6 billion. Does it matter when everything is gone? No more roads, cars, buildings, economy, pollution and civilization.

Party Weekend Part#1

Even before the weekend began, Friday night was a kinda unexpectedly entertaining especially from my observant mode on and thinking through all night of fun, loud music, butts and breasts, MondayBluer and party patrons. I went to The Loft at the KL Asian Heritage Row, a few units away from Bar Savannh. Place was packed with people of all kinds and culture. The place looks swanky in the moment of light but with the crowd I guess it’s fresh from my view. Surprisingly I was pretty much amazed by two distinguish sights.

First was the dancing crowd stepping over each others toes & feet, brushing one another’s sweaty body and a person was sweeping! Yes! Sweeping the floor for cigarette butts, tissues, paper towel and empty cigarette boxes. If we mute the music and slow down the speed of those dancing people and just focus on that guy or lady who was sweeping the floor, I wonder what’s in their head that very moment. As I continue to observe, they were doing their job in such a hostile crowded environment. That I salute to these fine individuals.

Second and lastly is sort of not really unpleasant but pitiful. As the night grows older, I noticed a girl in another colleague’s arm, dozing! Evidently another classical case of I drink-too-many-now-i-am-wasted person. It seems like if you have insomnia get high with whisky and loud music. However, I respected that person who can sleep so comfortably in the same environment as the people sweeping the floor for a living.

Therefore, I conclude there are minorities in the crowd of dance club after all except for one, me! Mister Observe and report to blog for remembrance sake.

Party Weekend Part#2

This weekend is my company’s dinner event which unmistakably falls on every odd number year in a Gregorian calendar i.e. 2001, 2003 and now 2005. Strangely this is my first and maybe very last dinner. I was away on project in 2001 and behaved naughtily then. Where as for 2003, sadly fell ill of some bug that caught me at the wrong time. Now 2005 where after I have handed in the badge couple of weeks to pure raw savage reality of the I.T world will catch up to me again. Tonight I am sure MondayBluer will look stunning in her custom made dress. MB is the kind that would seriously give her best thoughts on wearable items. I guess it’s her very interest or hobby to instinctively pick out the best value from something to make herself look beautiful. I, on the other hand, could be really bothered much but nonetheless had no idea my wear or shall I say outfit / costume would be anywhere near appropriate.

Tonight post dinner will be like Party Weekend Part#1 in which I hope to get a good picture of minority people. Venue for tonight, RUM JUNGLE!

MB for strangely these couple of weeks seems to have less pre-Mondays drama because of acquaintance with guy-buddy colleagues. She sort of like grown a sense of companionship that motivates her very much directions towards happiness and meaning. In fact it’s beneficial in a way for her to get occupied after the good old club days.

Whereas I have put my very career path on the line, exquisitely wasting time on challenges and unexplainably agreed to go Gunung Tahan on the September 16th, 2005. That puts us into a month of intensive and gruesome training. I will come to that later.

Time to the salon and change my hair style from Uncle Ed to a more presentable-for-formal-dinner event like tonight. Below is the picture of my hair!
